Is the Kisumu artist a dead beat Dad?

Kisumu artist Collins presents his art to president
The controversial lady and the artist
Just a few days after his meeting with the president , Collins Okello the artist from Kisumu has been rocked with allegations of running away from responsibilities of child upkeep by his former girlfriend Yvonne Bisinde. The lady has sensationally claimed that Collins knew of his child but decided to ignore her completely leaving her alone with the child's upkeep.
The artist on his part has replied to the claims saying that the girl was his friend and by the time he got a new girlfriend Julie, Yvonne was not at all pregnant . His current girlfriend has not so far responded to those allegations but only waits for him to arrive back home from Nairobi.

The artist is set to Jet back to Kisumu while maintaining that he will still remain to be who he has always been despite the new status he jets back to Kisumu with. He maintains that people should pursue their dreams and their talents pray and never to give up.

The artist left the statehouse with Nostalgia he might not be forgetting anytime soon. Read below :-
"I remember when we arrived at State House, the fountain spring at the entrance and the building with white large pillars, the serene environment, the red carpet............then i stood next to the president, he gave me a side hug and i hugged him back, then he said "my boy i love this. This is going straight to my office, nowhere else. Thank you soooo much", what with cameras flashing from all corners, aides standing far but keenly looking around and some were actually smiling with me! Those serious looking guys were smiling, one actually gave me a 'silent' thumbs up! Butterflies were swelling in my stomach, my knees were shaking and my voice was stummery. I remember back in primary school we used to write in compositions 'i prayed that the earth should open up and swallow me alive', because this was too good to be true, ever felt sweet pain? Ever knocked your head at the edge of a sharp window and felt it through your spinal cord? Down and spreading across your abdominals? Or ever knocked that protruding bone at the side of your foot against the table? Tears of sweetness roll freely, the pain i felt on my fingers as i filled in very excruciating details, the fatigue when i was done with the drawing was immense. Droplets of sweat gather strategically on a cold day. You just smile. A smile that can tear your face apart. A smile that prevents you from uttering a word. It was surreal. And the icing on the cake, he asked me to come back the next day!
When all these were unfolding before and around me, i remembered the words of someone whose name i cant remember, because i was too young to notice. "One day you will meet a president with this talent."
Proverbs 22:29 "

How High are the Kenyan schools ?

The National Authority for the Campaign against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) headed the Chairman John Mututho, have released a report on Sunday the 10/12/2014 on alcohol abuse in the Kenyan High schools, the number of high school students on drug abuse list in Kenya is at 50.3% as given by the respondent students across the Nation. Alcohol abuse by the students was at 73%  which was followed by Miraa at 63% . Cigarette abuse was at 53%. Use of bhang popularly known as 'weed' remains popular amongst the students.

This begs as to who is to be blamed for the high rates and early exposure to  drugs amongst the high school students. The students are reported to be abusing the drugs at their homes during weekends and holidays while some get to access the drugs in their various schools of learning. Since some Kenya students stay up in boarding schools the question that lingers is how do they get the drugs. It is reported that the students get access through school workers who disguise the drugs in foods such as bread and sugar while some get the from the relatives who pays them visits once in a while on visiting and innings or outings.

The National Authority for the Campaign against Alcohol have reported that they will be introducing breathalyzers popular known as alcohol to all schools across the country and those found to have abused drugs at above 50% levels will be expelled out of school. This comes as some schools already have introduced ways of checking alcohol levels amongst the students

This is said to be a Major contributor to Moral decay in the society. Most of the drug abusers are reported to getting in risky behaviors such as Prostitution and Club stripping to be able to afford and sustain their. The latest cases being reported in Kisumu in club signature. Most o f the students end up contracting HIV and/or getting pregnant at early ages with some ending up in marriages.

IS IT ALMOST TIME FOR A KENYAN GENOCIDE ?

A story is told of a nation in the East of Africa called Rwanda. It was inhabited by the Hutu's, Tutsi's and the Twa.  The Rwandan people before colonization reared animals for livelihood. The Rwandan genocide resulted from the elites promotion of hatred and fear to keep itself in power. This small Hutu extremists within Rwanda’s political elite blamed the entire Tutsi minority population for the country’s increasing social, economic, and political pressures. The Tutsi were rich and the Hutus were majority poor. On April 6, 1994, an airplane carrying Habyarimana and Burundian president Cyprien Ntaryamira was brought down as i was about to land into the town of  Kigali, Rwanda killing all on board.

Dead bodies scattered in a field  Rwanda
What followed thereafter was a mass slaughter and  blood bath,  that Left about 1,000,000 Rwandans dead. It is believed that the government led officials in the army and the police blocked up the roads along the major highways and checked peoples identity cards, all those who were perceived to be in the enemies were murdered in cold blood then and there. Then the Tutsi inhabited villages were raided and soon after the once fresh water bodies were flowing with fresh human blood and tons of dead bodies.

young boy mourns near a grave
After a period of 100 days the villages went silent, no more cries and wailing. One could neither see people walking in the streets of Kigali ,Rwanda nor working in the farms with their livestock grazing by the side, there was no music to be danced , sad faces covered as the smells of dead people filled the air. Dilapidated bodies of innocent children , men and women were splattered by the road side. A walk in the villages revealed shallow graves perhaps that hid the cowardliness and the desire by the perpetrators to ensure none of the victim woke up and told the world as to committed the crime and why.  What remains today perhaps are the skulls in the museums to serve as memory to the Rwandans and the world at large about that fateful period in time.

A young boy walks past dead bodies
The tale of Rwanda is a sad tale of  political intolerance, hatred , tribalism, poor leadership and injustice. The then leaders of Rwanda inculcated hatred among the citizens through their boastful proud, arrogant and inciting statement. The citizens had at that time never engaged in civil war and it caught many unawares and more so because of the nature of violence that was witnessed. The literacy and the uncivilized nature of the general citizenry contributed much in fueling the mass Human slaughter that was witnessed.

A lecturer at the University of Nairobi, a few weeks gave out a prediction of a possible genocide. He claims that the political scene being experienced in Kenya is slowly brewing and setting the stage for what will be one of the worst political genocide of the century. The level of carelessness by the leaders from the both the Kenyan political divide , the jubilee Government and the Cord Opposition is a recipe for violence. In analysis, there is a lot of ethnic/tribal suspicion that even the president Uhuru Kenyatta admits and mentions  in nearly in  all his addresses since he was sworn in as the president. He acknowledges that the is a sharp division between his supporters and the opposition and he passionately talks of uniting the nation though he still admits that is a challenge. Judging from the arguments and comments from social these prediction may be hard to rule ot as those who should be uniting the nation seem to be doing nothing, the leaders enjoy unwavering support with such divisions and this is no different from Rwanda.

Do you visualize Civil war or Genocide coming in Kenya  ?

THE UNEXPECTED HAGUE DEMONSTRATION

A few hours ago a rare meeting was held in the streets by Kenyan citizens who had  traveled to the Netherlands to show solidarity to the Kenya's president who is currently facing charges of crimes against  humanity in the ICC. A group of people gathered in the streets at the Hague dressed in the national flag  colors and chanted National anthem as they marched across disrupting the traffic for residents of Holland.  The Nairobi's senator is reported to have taken part in the demonstration amidst cheers from the participants.
Hague demonstrations

A section of Kenyans have viewed this as an embarrassment to the Nation of Kenya  and even asked those involved in the strike to desist and expressed optimism that  come when the president is expected to take to the stand in the court there will be no disruption of the proceedings by the striking civilians

Security have been beefed in the courtroom and around the court to prevent the demonstrators from intruding and causing damage in the surrounding buildings.

WAS UHURU MISADVISED ON ICC ?

Even as the president readies himself for the Hague date, Kenyans have expressed different opinions over the ICC's decision to call on the president to answer to the concerns raised by the office of the prosecutor of his lack of cooperation with the office. A section of Kenyans feel that the president should not have fled to Hague based court as that is an infringement of the country's sovereignty and democracy. Some sections have questioned the presidents advisers decision to allow him travel to the court. Even as the question of whether to try the president back in East African Courts tones down, the legislatures allied to the president party like a Moses Kuria ,  have shifted gears and now claims that the international court is targeting only Africans . he terms the courts move to have the president continue with his case as a racist move.

The members of jubilee Coalition have expressed fears that this may be a ploy by the ICC to finally lock the president in Netherlands as he proceeds with his case. A jubilee Senator had previously  threatened to mobilize youths to block the Airport run way in case the ICC demanded the president to be present in the court to follow his trials.

The elite group of advisors on the hand led by Mutahi Ngunyi  on the other hand have expressed confidence on the decision by the president to honor the summons as intelligent and will embarrass the Hague based court and the prosecutors office which had wished the president declined the summons. A majority felt the case is on the verge of falling and expressed optimism of its final destiny.
